Educational Philosophy

As a life-long learner and educator, passionate about Early Years Learning and The Arts, I am committed to multi-disciplinary, play-based, inquiry-directed learning that recognizes the strengths and abilities of each child and is attentive to their individual needs and differences; that celebrates their cultural diversity and promotes empathy, generosity, inclusivity and respect.

I am inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to education and embrace the image of the child as an active, competent, curious being, capable of speaking many languages to express thoughts, ideas, opinions and emotions concerning themselves and the world. I believe that the questions and interests of children should power curriculum and believe in creating learning environments where learning is led by the imagination, creativity and natural expressiveness of the child. I am passionate about integrating The Arts,  linking experiences through multidisciplinary teaching and learning.

I choose to be authentic, collaborative and supportive in my interactions with others and believe that tolerance, compassion, kindness and generosity can change the world.
