I arrived in Dili, Timor-Leste with open palms and an empty sketchbook.
I returned to Australia with a heart full of stories, a book full of drawings and the small, unsettling fear that whilst oil and gas in the Timor Sea was the answer to Timor-Leste’s economic future, my country was controlling the map.
This work was made a gift to the people of Timor-Leste and is now in the Timorese Archive and Resistance Museum in Dili.
